Using the Mood Presets
With nine sound sliders, it can be hard to know where to begin. So the six most useful combinations are gathered under Moods. Press the Sound and display button at the bottom and you will find them at the top. Pressing one sets all nine sound sliders at once.
The six moods
| Mood | Contents | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Focus | Rain 60 · Wind 10 · Brown noise 20 | Study, writing, work |
| Sleep | Rain 45 · Brown noise 35 | Bedtime, naps |
| Storm | Rain 85 · Thunder 60 · Wind 45 | Enjoying a rainy-day mood |
| Seaside | Waves 80 · Wind 25 | Resting, meditation |
| Forest | Stream 60 · Crickets 30 · Wind 20 | Light reading, a break |
| Campfire | Fire crackle 80 · Wind 20 · Crickets 15 | With the fire scenes |
Sounds not listed go down to 0. The master volume, the brightness and the amount of rain or the flame size are not changed.
A preset is a starting point
After pressing a mood, move the sliders to change it however you like. For example, press Focus, then turn the wind off and raise the brown noise a little. Your changes are saved automatically and are still there on your next visit.
They are saved separately for each scene. The rainy window can keep a mix for concentrating while the fireplace keeps the campfire mix.
When to use Default
If you have been experimenting and want the original sound back, press Default. The scene you are viewing returns to its original mix, and the amount of rain or the flame size goes back to its starting value too. Values saved for other scenes are left alone.
Mixing scenes and moods
Scenes and sounds are not tied together. Combinations that seem unlikely are sometimes surprisingly good.
- Fireplace + Storm — wind and rain raging outside while you sit by the fire indoors.
- Rainy Window + Campfire — crackling wood while you look out of the window. For when you want the sound without the fire on screen.
- Snowy Night + Forest — turn the crickets off and it becomes a winter night by an unfrozen stream.
- Fire Pit + Seaside — a night at a beach campsite.
